Blackjack strategy VI – more basic strategy

The basic strategy that can be optimally followed by any blackjack player for making considerable winning in this form of gambling game is different if his initial 20card hand holds a pair from either if he had a soft or a hard total hand. However, the common parameters such as game table playing three or more card decks, blackjack hand offering 3:2 payout, dealer standing on soft 17 total and viewing own hole card to check for a natural and doubling down as well as double after split rules being validated need to be observed.

Now if the player has an ace pair or a pair of 8, he should invariably split against any face up card that the dealer may show. However, if the player has a total of 20, with a permutation and combination of the ten-valued cards, it is advisable that he should stand and let the hand of play progress on its own. For high pairs like 9 cards, the player’s basic strategy should be to stand when the dealer has a 7 or any ten-valued card or an ace. Otherwise, for all other possible value that the dealer’s up card may have, he should split. For a pair of 7 or 2 or 3, the player should optimally split if the dealer has any value ranging from 2 to 7 and hit for dealer’s up card ranging from 8 to ace. The player with a 6 pair should hit for any dealer up card with value ranging between 7 and ace and otherwise split the pair. In case, the pair is of 4 cards, splitting is optimal only when the dealer’s up card is 5 or 6, and hitting and drawing additional card(s) is the right choice for other situations. For a hand with a 5 pair, the player should hit against the dealer’s ace or any ten-valued card and double in all other cases. If doubling is not permitted, hitting is the only optimal choice that the player can follow.
