Blackjack strategy VII – card counting
To emerge as a winning blackjack player, any gambler may make the use of basic strategy to his best possible advantage but the situations can only be applied over a long term with million of hands of play happening, and in the short term situation basic strategy may not be a player’s first and foremost tactics of gameplay. Since in the short run, with more and more cards being dealt from the deck, it no longer remains complete, it has been found that card counting is an extremely effective and advantageous strategy that a blackjack player may use.
Card counting definitely gives a blackjack player an edge over the casino house and this means that employing this tactics the player may stake bigger bet amounts in the game and stands the chance to make higher profits by winning. So, if a player has counted the cards and found out that the card deck has a higher number of aces and ten-valued cards left still to be distributed, it would mean that his possibility of hitting a blackjack increases and he can make the most of this knowledge by wagering a bet size that is higher than his usual opening bet, for he hopes to win it back at 3:2 odds. There is another plus point of card counting. A blackjack player who is adept in this tactics can utilize this technique most favorably by combining it with the basic strategy. Since the only drawback of basic strategy is that it does not take into consideration the number of cards that have left the deck and been distributed among the dealer and the participating players, therefore using card counting the basic strategy van be made a foolproof winning formula. However, this is easier said than done and to apply card counting and basic strategy simultaneously in a game of blackjack is an extremely difficult proposition, if not an outright impossible one.
